Author Jack Trelawny shows his new book to Tretherras pupils

Author's Magical Book

Students at a Newquay School were plunged into a magical adventure when local author Jack Trelawny visited to talk about his latest work.

Newquay Tretherras was the setting when Mr Trelawny, author of the book Kernowland - The Crystal Pool, entertained youngsters with a talk and slide show explaining the adventures that the two children find themselves in when they are transported to the magical world of Kernowland.

The students were told about some of the adventures and the interesting characters they meet along the way.

Lots of laughter could be heard from the school library as the students looked at some of the fictional beasts. They were told that it in fact the real world that can be researched and then used for fictional stories.

Librarians Alwany Martin and Tracy Clatworth said students who were unable to see the author have already been to the library to reserve a copy of the book.
